Job summary

Ulta Beauty in California is seeking a Merchandise Manager (MM) to lead store operations, drive top-line sales, manage payroll and inventory, and coach a team toward high performance. This role reports to the Operations Manager and steers the shipment process, replenishment, omni-channel, and pricing changes.

The MM must embody operational excellence, drive results, and empower associates while maintaining compliance and a guest-first service culture.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of fast-paced, retail management experience.
• Ability to drive top-line sales, interpret reports, manage payroll budgets.
• Experience in inventory, merchandising, and operations.
• Leadership to attract, develop, and motivate a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic technology and POS systems.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Promote accountability to meet store sales, payroll, and shrink goals.
• Drive profitability through operational excellence and costs control.
• Support scheduling to maximize productivity within payroll budget.
• Review financial reporting, audits, and store visits regularly.
• Lead brand programs and guest service initiatives to drive sales.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demos.
• Develop associates through training, feedback, and coaching.
• Ensure compliance with policies, dress code, and procedures.
• Communicate trends and opportunities to field leadership.
