Job summary

Dollar General in Gaylord, MI is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in all store processes, including staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service, for a limited period as the external candidate develops into the Store Manager role.

You will assist in recruiting, maintain in-stock targets, manage cash handling and deposits, and ensure compliance with policies while keeping store safe and well organized. Travel to other stores is possible per note.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash handling and deposits are secure and compliant.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork by deadlines.
