Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory, merchandising, and daily operations. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will gain hands-on leadership experience, participate in recruiting, staffing, cashier controls, store safety, and opening/closing duties, with travel to nearby locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Experience in recruiting, staffing, and training is a plus.
• Familiarity with store merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging/stocking of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and operations.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and operate in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements and identify business opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
