Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Mississippi to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position on a limited-term basis.

You will assist with recruiting, inventory control, pricing, and customer service leadership while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure the safe deposit of all company funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends, expenses and inventory turns.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
