Job summary

Dollar General stores seek a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, and store operations. This interim role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position and will be held for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and ensuring a safe, well‑stocked store environment while maintaining company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds.
