Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Strong mathematical skills including percentages.

• Experience using IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct evaluations; address gaps and coaching up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policies.
• Open/close the store as required; maintain consistent operations.
• Evaluate operating statements, identify trends and opportunities, control expenses.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; manage ordering plans and inventory weekly.
• Facilitate stocking and merchandising following company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls; protect financial integrity.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized store environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks and communications; ensure compliance.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
