Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an experienced store manager to oversee daily operations, staffing, and customer service at a high-volume store.

You will recruit and train staff, manage inventory, ensure storefront presentation, and drive sales while upholding safety and company policies.

This role requires strong leadership, customer focus, and adherence to federal and state laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, identify gaps for solutions or counseling, up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store at least twice per week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expense control opportunities, shrink, and errors.
• Review ordering plan and inventory management weekly; handle stock replenishment.
• Facilitate stocking and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing; maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
