Job summary

Qualifications

• Must read, write and understand English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willing to work long and sometimes unusual hours, standing for extended periods.
• High school level math competency.
• Collaborative work style and ability to partner with staff to drive site performance.
• Insurable by the company's auto liability insurance carrier.
• At least 2+ years of management experience.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain controls on cash, inventory and expenses.
• Transmit end-of-day reports by noon on Mondays and by midnight other days.
• Make daily bank deposits by the deadline.
• Call in daily fuel report by 8:00 a.m.
• Analyze sales trends by shift and day; coordinate with managers as needed.
• Recruit, screen and train new employees.
• Coach and direct store staff and provide ongoing training.
• Help write and enforce work schedules within labor guidelines.
• Delegate duties; in manager's absence, approval required from District Manager to hire/dismiss.
• Cover open shifts and ensure store meets company standards and policies.
• Order groceries to avoid overstock/out-of-stock; check in vendors.
• Ensure merchandising is timely and pricing/signage is correct; update price book.
• Maintain store expense checkbook and conduct fuel price surveys.
• Conduct a monthly competition price survey.
