Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager responsible for leading all store operations, staffing, inventory management, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires overseeing opening/closing, training staff, and maintaining store standards while adhering to company policies and federal/state laws.

Responsibilities include recruitment, performance evaluations, cash control, merchandising, and daily reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel and terminate staff in line with policies and laws.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train and coach employees.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and staff the store adequately.
• Provide proper training, conduct performance evaluations and address gaps as needed.
• Open and close the store regularly and ensure proper staffing.
• Monitor sales, expenses and inventory to identify trends and control costs.
• Order, stock, present merchandise and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Ensure cashier accountability and store security practices are followed.
