Job summary

Dollar General Company is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support.

You will recruit and train staff, monitor performance, manage scheduling, and ensure compliance with safety and cash-control policies while maximizing sales and profitability. The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of inventory and merchandising, and the ability to open/close store as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, and terminate according to policies.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies.
• Provide proper training and evaluate performance; counsel when needed.
• Manage staffing, opening and closing the store twice weekly commitments.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and shrink.
• Ensure in-stock targets and inventory management are met weekly.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
