Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination if needed.
• Open and close the store as required, with personal involvement at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, profitability and stock issues.
• Review order plans and inventory management to meet in-stock targets.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure cash control and store security.
