Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps and counsels as needed.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events to promote safety and policies.
• Ensures store is staffed and opened/closed regularly, with minimum weekly openings and closures.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends, profitability, turn, and cost-control opportunities.
• Manages stock planning, ordering, and cycle counts to meet in-stock targets.
