The candidate will oversee opening and closing duties, supervise staff, analyze sales trends, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Understanding of cash, facility and safety control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per federal/state laws and company policies; ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps or counseling needs.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open/close the store at least twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for trends in sales, profitability and shrinkage.
• Oversee stock levels; review ordering plans and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure proper merchandising presentation and pricing using fixtures and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory and controls over damages and paperwork.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and a safe shopping environment.
• Keep store clean, organized and secure; ensure tools are available.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks and communications; complete paperwork on time.
