Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Leader to manage all store operations, staffing, training, and compliance with company policies. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and cashier operations while ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires recruiting, training, evaluating staff, and ensuring adherence to labor laws and company standards. You will lead performance reviews and drive store performance through effective people and inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for solutions.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure store is appropriately staffed and opened/closed daily.
• Open and close the store at least twice per week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses and shrink.
• Manage stock by reviewing ordering plans and inventory issues.
• Present merchandise per established standards and maintain pricing/signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages and cash procedures.
