Job summary

Grocery Outlet in Newport News is seeking a Store Manager to lead all facets of a busy location, drive sales, manage operations, and shape store culture. You will own financial performance, oversee staffing, and act as the brand ambassador in the local community.

The role reports to the Director - Sales & Merchandising and requires a strong track record in grocery retail, people leadership, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of retail management experience, grocery store management experience preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and coach employees.
• Knowledge of financial statements, government regulations and OSHA guidelines.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of store financial performance, including sales, labor, margin and controllable expenses.
• Lead operations, standards, and safety, ensuring OSHA and food-handling compliance.
• Develop and coach the store team, recruit talent, and manage performance.
• Engage with customers and the local community to strengthen the brand.
• Monitor local market trends and adapt strategies to drive sales and loyalty.
