Job summary

Maplefields & R.L. Vallee is seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager in Training to develop the skills needed to oversee a Maplefields store in the absence of a manager. You will assist the Store Manager with day-to-day activities and training of sales associates while upholding company standards.

Full-time position with 40 hours per week, including paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and a benefits package. Shifts vary by location and may require limited personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring and training individuals to provide exceptional customer service as members of the Maplefields team.
• Coordinate and participate in all functions and duties associated with operating a convenience store.
• Monitor cash drawers and explain overages/shortages; complete financial paperwork and provide shift coverage.
• Create a positive work environment, motivate and train store staff.
• Enforce daily operating procedures to keep store clean, stocked, organized, and compliant with policies.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed attractively, correctly priced, and displayed safely.
• Implement price change requests from the corporate office and understand monthly promotions.
• Follow vendor policies and ensure invoices are scanned on time.
• Ensure environmental/safety procedures are followed and incidents are reported as per protocol.
• Work independently or in teams and handle multiple projects; shifts vary by location.
