Job summary

Costellos Ace Staten Island is seeking a Store Manager In Training to learn and perform essential duties of store management. The role focuses on operating daily store activities, driving sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading a team to meet business goals.

The SMIT program provides hands-on leadership development, training in merchandising, inventory control, and staff supervision to prepare for a Store Manager role. Flexible hours and retail exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in retail; supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing store operations.
• Experience training staff to improve team performance and customer service.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in inventory management and merchandising.
• Ability to analyze sales reports and financial data.
• Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Learn and apply strategies to drive sales and increase profitability.
• Support the Store Manager in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring product availability.
• Participate in training programs to develop skills in customer service, merchandising, and team leadership.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer inquiries and issues.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and developing store staff to enhance team performance.
• Analyze sales reports and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
• Work closely with the Store Manager to develop and execute promotional strategies.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
