Job summary

Tractor Supply Company is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the Store Manager duties and develop leadership and customer service skills. You will recruit and develop a team, drive sales, manage inventory to ensure in-stock levels, and support budgeting and forecasting to improve store performance.

The role emphasizes delivering Legendary Customer Experience, fostering an inclusive team environment, and coordinating with district leadership for smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Education: High school diploma; Bachelor's in Agricultural-Science or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Manager Trainee, observe and learn duties for Store Manager role and develop required skills.
• Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining team members.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, uncover needs, recommend solutions, add value.
• Create a welcoming store environment reflecting diversity and inclusion.
• Schedule, organize, and plan daily activities for the team.
• Lead the team to deliver a Legendary shopping experience.
• Communicate policies to staff, evaluate processes, and coordinate with District/Regional Managers.
• Learn budgeting, sales forecasting, and proper documentation.
• Manage inventory, merchandise flow, and store presentation.
• Support special projects and community involvement.
