Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Franklin, TN is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, supervision, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. This role provides hands-on experience in store processes and internal development for a future Store Manager, with responsibilities covering opening/closing, cash controls, reporting, and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management (including damages, markdowns, register scanning, paperwork).
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation.
