Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in New Haven, IN is hiring an Assistant Store Manager/MIT for a full-time, 40-hour work week. The role includes a 90-day Manager-in-Training program, supervision of staff, daily operations, banking and record-keeping, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour with opportunities to advance to Store Manager. Flexibility for shifts and occasional travel may be required as part of the leadership track.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus).
• Valid Driver's License and ability to clear MVR for Salvation Army.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Support staff training and supervision as assigned.
• Assist Manager with store maintenance and appearance, ensuring safety, security, cleanliness, and utility.
• Work with store manager to keep income and expenses within budgeted parameters.
• Protect resources through product control procedures to prevent shrinkage.
• Implement customer development and retention plans.
