Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is seeking an Assistant Store Manager/MIT to support daily operations in Fort Wayne, IN. This role partners with the Store Manager to supervise staff, oversee production and sales, and maintain cash handling and records.

The Manager-in-Training program lasts 12 weeks and aims to develop skills for a full-time Store Manager role. The position starts as part-time (25 hours/week) with a pathway to 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Support staff training and supervision as assigned.
• Assist Store Manager with production, sales and customer development.
• Oversee store maintenance, safety, security, and records.
• Manage banking and record-keeping procedures.
• Help keep income and expenses within budgeted parameters.
• Protect resources through product control procedures to prevent shrinkage.
