Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in New Haven, IN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager/MIT to partner with the Store Manager on daily operations, staff supervision, sales, and safety compliance. This 40-hour, full-time role offers a 90-day Manager-in-Training program and a competitive benefits package.

You’ll lead staff, implement strategies to meet goals, manage store appearance, and ensure accurate banking and records. Growth to Store Manager is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus).
• Valid Driver's License and ability to clear MVR for The Salvation Army.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Support staff training and supervision as assigned.
• Assist Manager with store maintenance and appearance, ensuring safety, security, cleanliness, and utility.
• Work with store manager to keep income and expenses within budgeted parameters.
• Implement customer development and retention plans to create an enjoyable shopping experience.
• Handle banking and record-keeping procedures and assist with personnel reviews.
