The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills needed for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We expect our SMITs to:

  1. Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  2. Support your store as a management team member and lead in accordance with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.
  5. Understand that promotion to Store Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and opportunities.
  6. Be willing to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the market.
  7. Have the ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  8. Be flexible to work varying schedules based on business needs.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
