The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training experience. It includes virtual and hands-on learning, supported by your District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to lead your team.
  2. Customer service duties to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We expect our SMITs to:

  1. Engage actively with leadership during Key Learning Experiences.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  3. Support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market and transfer to other CVS stores as needed.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Retail management or CVS supervisory experience.

Note: Selection for the SMIT program does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and availability.
