The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position.

The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, incorporating virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Our team supporting your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Skills Needed for This Role
  1. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
  2. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
  3. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Expectations for SMITs
  1. Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion during the program.
  2. Support your store as a management team member and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection as an SMIT does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and available openings.

Minimum Requirements
  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  • Ability to work a schedule that varies based on business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor is a plus.
Additional Details
  • Anticipated Weekly Hours: 45
  • Time Type: Full time
  • Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
