PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Assistant Store Manager Production Clothing is a vital key leader within the store and may serve as acting Store Manager when the Store Manager is not present. They provide oversight for the full range of operational activities, resulting in positive experiences for both employees and customers as well as retail profitability -- all in a manner consistent with our Mission and Values. The Assistant Store Manager Production Clothing sets expectations for the proper execution of policies and procedures and responds as appropriate to employee performance. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Operational Oversight-
- Monitors the quality of product prepared for the sales floor.
- Adjusts pricing based on data provided by the Operations Manager.
- Collaborates with Store Management to assess and address inventory and ragout trends.
- Oversees the Bale Truck process and ensures daily completion of baling by employees.
- Tracks production metrics, communicates data with the Production Lead, and works collaboratively with the team to meet standards.
- Conducts daily floor walks, sharing insights with Store Management to ensure alignment.
- Takes responsibility for the overall function of the store when other Store Management is not present.
- Staffing, Employee Training and Development-
- Oversees the Production Clothing Department staff.
- Conducts weekly or as-needed one-on-one meetings with Production Clothing staff.
- Evaluates potential candidates for cultural alignment and position fit through phone interviews and on-site interviews.
- Manages the selection and integration of new staff by adhering to company procedures.
- Oversees Associate training and supports the Production Lead in training new Associates in their roles, responsibilities, company policies, procedures and best practices, including cross-training in other departments as needed.
- Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure proper staffing levels in adherence with the labor model, including cross-training.
- Communicates performance expectations, coaching for improvement and success and utilizes existing performance management tools to document conversations.
- Assists the Store Manager in the annual review process by sharing input on their employees’ performance.
- Employee Engagement and Morale-
- Promotes employee engagement through regular huddles and team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, special events, and prioritizing employee recognition.
- Compliance and Regulatory Activities-
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, as well as CommunityAid policies and procedures, and ensures these are clearly communicated and followed by Leads and Associates.
- Facilities and Logistics -
- Maintains a safe environment for both employees and customers.
- Ensures cleanliness and organization within the production clothing space of the warehouse.
- Regularly monitors for safety, promptly addressing and taking measures to correct unsafe work conditions.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree related to business management preferred
- Minimum of one-year production experience in a supervisory role preferred
- Experience effectively managing in a fast-paced, professional work environment
- The ability to properly handle and maintain confidential information
- Flexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 pounds
- Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
