Job description

Join to apply for the Store Manager in Training role at O'Reilly Auto Parts

Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall store operations. The objective is to receive hands-on training to prepare for a management position in another store or future location.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members involved, including delivery, installer service specialists, parts, and merchandising specialists.
  2. Work jointly with the district manager and store manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
  3. Communicate all relevant information from team meetings to all team members.
  4. Train new team members and handle performance evaluations, including recommending pay increases.
  5. Assist in recruiting tasks, scheduling, interviewing, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
  6. Support store safety compliance and training, monitor safety expectations.
  7. Make sales calls with or without the store manager, possibly on a scheduled basis.
  8. Assist in store operations, including maintenance of delivery fleet, store cleanliness, and organization.
  9. Learn to utilize electronic scheduling, clocking, payroll systems, and manage key components of gross profit, including monitoring returns, price matching, and reviewing KPI dashboards and P&L statements.
Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, Abilities

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program
  • Ability to match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems

Desired:

  • O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience
  • Completed O’Reilly management training program
  • Advanced computer skills
  • ASE Certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish
