The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training that includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your development includes guidance from your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and your Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Store inventory and asset management to maintain profitability.

We expect our SMITs to:

  1. Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, acting in accordance with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within your market and transfer to other CVS stores as needed.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and available openings.
