The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position.

The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences.

Your growth will be supported by a team including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Skills Needed for This Role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care skills to provide high levels of service.
  • Ability to execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Management of store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

Our expectations for SMITs include:

  • Engaging actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  • Supporting store operations as a management team member, aligned with CVS values and policies.
  • Engaging colleagues to support the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  • Willingness to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT role does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance and available openings.

  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience considered.
Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 45

Time Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
