Join to apply for the Store Manager in Training role at O'Reilly Auto Parts

Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall store operations. The objective is to receive hands-on training to prepare for a management position at another store or future location.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members involved, including delivery and installer service specialists, parts, and merchandising specialists.
  2. Responsible for supervising all team members, working with district and store managers on recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging staff.
  3. Communicate all relevant information from team meetings to staff.
  4. Train new team members and handle performance evaluations, including recommending pay increases.
  5. Assist in recruiting by participating in interviews and evaluating candidates.
  6. Support store safety and training initiatives, monitor safety compliance, and ensure all team members are trained.
  7. Make sales calls with or without the store manager and support store operations as assigned.
  8. Maintain delivery fleet records, keep the store organized, and learn electronic scheduling, clocking, payroll, and managing key financial components.
  9. Monitor gross profit, review customer returns, price matching, and individual team member productivity, including KPI dashboards and monthly P&L reviews.
Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, Abilities

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program
  • Ability to quickly and accurately match numerical and alpha characters
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems

Desired:

  • Experience in O’Reilly store and/or distribution center
  • Completed O’Reilly management training program
  • Advanced computer skills
  • ASE Certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish
