Job summary

SVdP St. Louis is seeking a Store Manager I to oversee thrift store operations, drive sales and donations, and lead staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service aligned with our mission.

The role requires five years of retail management or related experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility including nights and weekends. You will monitor reports, supervise payroll, forecast budgets, and ensure safety and merchandising standards.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience and/or training that included retail management; thrift or non-profit experience preferred
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing business strategies to maximize store sales and donations
• Monitors daily store sales, analyzes business reports to identify inventory problems and reports any areas of concern
• Completes operation assessments to protect company assets
• Processes payroll and payroll adjustments accurately and timely
• Assists with forecasting and planning of store’s budget and monitors the store’s operating budgets
• Implements price changes
• Assists with implementation of marketing and merchandising strategies for increasing sales and donations
• Ensures compliance with Loss Prevention practices
• Ensures compliance with Organizational Safety practices
• Implements product transfers
• Utilizes donated merchandise for best revenue return and maximized dollars for SVdP
• Controls workflow through planning and delegation
• Oversees store organization and appearance through visual merchandising
• Completes purchase orders for store supplies
• Hires, trains and evaluates store employees and volunteers
• Coaches and disciplines staff
• Manages resources to achieve SVdP objectives
• Active recruitment of employees
• Role model for customer service standards
• Understands wastes and strives to reduce them
• Shares knowledge to support growth of others
• Other duties as assigned
