Job summary

Dollar General in the United States is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager by supervising employees, staffing, inventory management, stocking, and cashiering. This limited-duration role aims to develop internal candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and financial integrity, while delivering superior customer service and maintaining store safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and store controls.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and pricing per manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
