Job summary

Pep Boys in Merced, CA is seeking a Store Manager to lead service labor, parts, and fleet sales while delivering standout customer service and maintaining shop productivity. You will recruit, hire, and develop the service team and oversee daily operations to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on coaching, with accountability for store performance and adherence to company policies. A safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in automotive service environment.
• Completion of a two-year college, technical program, or 1-3 years of service industry experience with at least 1 year supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong math skills for commissions and discounts.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage a team of associates, including supervising, training and disciplining as needed.
• Oversee store productivity, profitability, and service quality.
• Coach service selling staff on customer care processes and CVIs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, cash handling, and POS procedures.
• Staffing to maintain optimal levels and interview/hire when needed.
• Monitor shop productivity and back shop operations for efficiency and safety.
• Drive customer satisfaction and resolve complaints in a fair manner.
• Open and close store duties and general operations.
