The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store, including training, directing, and monitoring all department staff.

Responsibilities
Recipe for Success:
- Greet and service customers per company standards of World Class customer service; train staff accordingly.
- Provide professional leadership, motivate staff, and treat people with respect and integrity.
- Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.
- Maintain an inviting and shoppable store with in-stock products.
- Handle special orders and ensure phone standards are met, spending at least 75% of time assisting customers and managing staff on the sales floor.
- Train staff on customer service, ensure compliance with food safety certifications, and meet sales and operational targets.
- Order products from correct vendors, manage perishables, and handle markdowns per standards.
- Assist customers across all store areas, ensure staff is trained and accountable, and manage schedules and tasks effectively.
- Partner with department managers for staffing, cross-training, and product knowledge enhancement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, handle hiring, and address disciplinary issues with HR support.
- Communicate clearly with staff, conduct meetings, and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
- Manage business disruptions, make timely store edits, and develop staff for future management roles.
- Train new management, encourage staff development, and ensure operational responsibilities are completed.
- Maintain store appearance, respond to departmental issues, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Support decisions from the home office, adapt to changing demands, and assist on the sales floor as needed.
All employees are expected to be "hands-on" and contribute to store success.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years management experience in grocery/retail, natural foods industry a plus.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and pass food safety training/certifications.
- Must obtain forklift certification and maintain food safety certifications.
- Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Must be cashier trained.
