The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store, including training, directing, and monitoring all department staff.

Responsibilities

Recipe for Success:

1. Greet and service customers per company standards of World Class customer service; train staff accordingly.
2. Provide professional leadership, motivate staff, and treat people with respect and integrity.
3. Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.
4. Maintain an inviting and shoppable store with in-stock products.
5. Handle special orders and ensure phone standards are met, spending at least 75% of time assisting customers and managing staff on the sales floor.
6. Train staff on customer service, ensure compliance with food safety certifications, and meet sales and operational targets.
7. Order products from correct vendors, manage perishables, and handle markdowns per standards.
8. Assist customers across all store areas, ensure staff is trained and accountable, and manage schedules and tasks effectively.
9. Partner with department managers for staffing, cross-training, and product knowledge enhancement.
10. Conduct performance evaluations, handle hiring, and address disciplinary issues with HR support.
11. Communicate clearly with staff, conduct meetings, and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
12. Manage business disruptions, make timely store edits, and develop staff for future management roles.
13. Train new management, encourage staff development, and ensure operational responsibilities are completed.
14. Maintain store appearance, respond to departmental issues, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
15. Support decisions from the home office, adapt to changing demands, and assist on the sales floor as needed.

All employees are expected to be "hands-on" and contribute to store success.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. 1-2 years management experience in grocery/retail, natural foods industry a plus.
3. Ability to manage changing priorities and pass food safety training/certifications.
4. Must obtain forklift certification and maintain food safety certifications.
5. Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
6. Must be cashier trained.
