Reports to: Regional Supervisor or Area Manager.
The Store Manager is responsible for driving sales goals to maximize store profitability. They oversee hiring, training staff, ensuring adherence to procedures, collaborating with the credit department, and managing store employees daily.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maximizing Profitability: Implement strategies to meet sales quotas, manage inventory, and utilize the Business Builder Program to boost sales. Follow up on online coupons and credit applications, maintaining all three CCO metrics.
- Resolving Customer Complaints: Communicate with customers regarding complaints, follow procedures, and maintain records for efficient resolution.
- Overseeing Store Personnel Performance: Perform managerial duties regularly, address performance issues, conduct disciplinary actions, and review credit applications.
- Controlling Expenditures: Manage payroll, operational expenses, and vendor chargebacks, reviewing expenses regularly for competitiveness.
- Determining Merchandise Selection: Write purchase orders, review requisitions, monitor backorders, and oversee store transfers.
- Overseeing Store Security: Conduct daily inspections, perform spot inventories, and count cash drawers monthly.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Update tags for pricing and remove promotional tags post-events.
- Conduct weekly store meetings and post directives.
- Review daily reports, invoices, and accounts receivable documents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Regional Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear frequently.
- Use hands regularly to handle objects and reach.
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Visual inspection of merchandise and documents.
Education, Experience, And Skills Required
- High school diploma required; college experience preferred.
- Self-motivated with supervisory and disciplinary skills.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
- Commitment to enforcing policies.
- Extensive retail experience, preferably in furniture/appliance sectors.
- Ability to perform retail duties and assume higher responsibilities.
