Position Purpose

Store Managers (SMs) are accountable for leading profitable operations of their store. SMs are responsible for executing the company's retail strategy focusing on customer service, in-stock, and store appearance. They achieve profitability by coaching associates, driving sales through excellent customer service, resolving issues, analyzing financial reports, monitoring market trends, and executing strategic plans. SMs communicate the retail strategy effectively, ensuring its execution through strategic planning and follow-up. They stay engaged by actively participating in sales, operational excellence, and team development, establishing a strong presence via store walks, meetings, and leadership development to build a talent pipeline. A successful SM leads by example, championing people and delivering consistent results in sales, service, and profit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. 15% Communicate with District Manager and team to align store goals, execute strategies, and resolve issues using Playbooks and communications.
  2. 15% Analyze sales and financial data to identify opportunities, improve performance, and monitor shrink and safety metrics, implementing improvement plans.
  3. 10% Conduct store walks with team members and leadership to assess operations and create improvement plans.
  4. 20% Lead weekly staff meetings, monitor employee engagement, and foster a positive, community-connected store environment.
  5. 20% Coach and train management and associates on operational standards, safety, and culture of operational excellence.
  6. 20% Support new initiatives, evaluate stock levels, and maximize inventory turns through processes like Green/Reduced Tag and Clearance.
Additional Information

Reports to: District Manager

Direct reports: 4-9 team members

Travel: Less than 10% overnight travel

Physical requirements: Walking, standing, lifting, and other physical activities as needed

Work conditions: Primarily indoor, mild discomfort possible

Qualifications
  • Minimum: 18 years old, legally permitted to work in the US, high school diploma/GED, 2 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred: 3+ years merchandising/operational experience, 3+ years leadership, flexible schedule of at least 55 hours/week

  • Competencies include interpreting sales reports and leveraging sales opportunities
