Job Objectives
Manages the operation of a Walgreens store, improving sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, asset protection, team development, and delivering a distinctive customer and patient experience.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Monitor and analyze customer service, provide training, and develop improvement plans.
- Greet customers and clinic patients, assist with products and services.
- Model customer service best practices to all team members.
- Resolve customer complaints and respond to special needs.
Operations
- Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including scheduling and task delegation.
- Control store finances, oversee bookkeeping, and manage inventory.
- Implement merchandising strategies and store organization.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including those related to sale of alcohol, tobacco, and pharmacy products.
- Maintain store cleanliness and manage repairs and emergencies.
Daily Planning and Execution
- Assign responsibilities and set expectations for staff.
Business Performance Management
- Analyze financial data, develop action plans to increase sales, and reduce losses.
Business Planning
- Identify sales opportunities and manage inventory levels.
People and Performance Management
- Manage team performance, training, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
Training and Personal Development
- Participate in training, pursue certifications, and seek self-development.
Communications
- Serve as liaison between district, corporate, and store; conduct community outreach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience, or high school diploma/GED and 5 years retail management experience.
- Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant as required by state law.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
