Job Objectives

Manages the operation of a Walgreens store, aiming to improve sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, protection of store assets, team member development, and delivering a distinctive customer and patient experience.

Job Responsibilities/Tasks

Customer Experience

• Monitor and analyze customer service, provide training and develop action plans for improvement.
• Greet customers and clinic patients, assist with products and services.
• Model customer service best practices to all team members.
• Resolve customer complaints and respond to special needs.

Operations

• Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including shifts, task delegation, and scheduling.
• Oversee financial controls, inventory management, merchandising, and store maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies, and proper staff training on systems.
• Handle emergencies and maintain store appearance.

Daily Planning and Business Performance

• Assign daily responsibilities and analyze financial and performance data to develop improvement strategies.
• Manage inventory levels and analyze KPIs and asset protection data.
• Work with pharmacy and clinic teams to enhance performance.

People and Performance Management

• Manage team performance, hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Develop employee performance plans and promote teamwork.
• Ensure legal compliance and fair treatment of staff.

Training and Personal Development

• Participate in training programs, pursue certifications, and seek self-development.

Communications

• Serve as liaison between district, corporate, and store teams.
• Conduct community outreach and participate in community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years retail management experience.
• Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant as required by state law, or licensed RPh.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• PTCB or ExCPT Certification (preferred).
