Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Maintenance associate for Bottino, NJ to deliver a great customer experience while maintaining a clean, safe store environment. Responsibilities include janitorial duties, restrooms, inventory of supplies, and operating cleaning equipment under Store Management guidance.

Qualified candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, interact well with customers, and work flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include reading, writing, speaking English; ability to stand for duration of shift; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; tolerate dust and cleaning agents; interact with customers in a friendly way; work cooperatively with others; comply with time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and recycling as prescribed by Store Management.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms; restocking paper and soap as required.
• Clean, mop, sweep, scrub, or vacuum floors as designated by Store Management.
• Maintain clean break and lunch areas.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and submit requests.
• Operate equipment safely and report any issues.
• Control utility use and conserve resources.
• Coordinate activities with other associates for efficiency.
• Observe security standards and report abnormal behavior.
• Know item locations and check prices.
• Lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain entrance security when handling trash or equipment.
• Communicate effectively with associates and management.
• Dress and groom per company policy; wear uniform and name badge.
• Adhere to Store hours and company safety policies.
• Follow HazCom policies and safety instructions for chemicals.
• Assist in training and complete department trainings.
• Overtime may be required; maintain punctuality and attendance.
• Work collaboratively with others.
