Job summary

ShopRite of Hillside in Hillside, NJ, is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Associate to deliver clean, safe, and welcoming store environments. You will perform janitorial duties, restock supplies, and help with basic repairs under store management guidance.

The role emphasizes customer-friendly service, safety, and efficient operation in a fast-paced retail setting. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand through shifts, and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Empty all trash and recycling containers as prescribed by Store Management.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms including all plumbing fixtures.
• Replenish paper and soap supplies in all restrooms.
• Clean floors and maintain overall store cleanliness.
• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
