Job summary

Dollar General Store in Shallotte, NC seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, including staffing, inventory, receiving, and store needs. This role fosters development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and ensuring policy compliance while delivering strong customer service and maintaining store safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of leadership/managerial experience.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and pricing according to direction.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, paperwork and facility controls.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Assists in opening and closing store activities.
• Ensures cash handling procedures, cashier accountability and deposits.
• Maintains a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
