Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our Mansfield, OH location. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing, and staff supervision while ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping environment for customers and associates.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and prior store management experience in retail or grocery settings.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise; payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep all areas neat and presentable; restock bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
