Job summary

You will oversee scheduling, merchandising execution, budgeting discussions, and staff development to maximize sales and profitability while ensuring compliance and safety across the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience.
• Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager & associates in delivering a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations.
• Lead teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Develop action plans and communications to associates based on survey results.
• Identify store opportunities and create timely solutions and action plans for plan implementation.
• Model and demand high levels of customer service and resolve associate/customer issues.
• Manage total store operations in store manager’s absence.
• Achieve or exceed weekly, period, and annual sales, wage budgets and profit budgets, plus safety and shrink targets.
• Drive sales by working with department managers to maximize sales and profits and reduce shrink.
• Participate in regular store-level financial performance discussions with associates on budgets and goals.
• Analyze competitive landscape within district/division and respond accordingly.
• Foster inclusive leadership and expect inclusive behavior from associates.
• Coordinate with field staff to meet sales/profit goals and execute merchandising plans.
• Promote strong relationships with local community organizations and union representatives if applicable.
• Communicate necessary information to associates to enable them to perform duties.
• Serve as liaison to store/district managers on merchandising/operational plans.
• Assist with staffing, reduce turnover and increase retention.
• Provide timely performance feedback to department heads and associates.
• Assist with labor management and supply costs to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and enterprise policies.
• Supervise and coach direct reports and complete performance reviews.
