Job summary

Meijer is seeking motivated students for its Store Leadership Internship in Michigan. The program builds retail knowledge and prepares interns for leadership roles, including potential advancement to Store Director after several years.

Interns participate in challenging projects, leadership rotations, and development programs designed to accelerate growth. A path to a full-time role is possible based on performance and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• The internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to gain exposure to the full operation of the store.
• Prior experience in retail is preferred, but not required.
• Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities strongly preferred.
• Passion for retail and a desire to enter a career in store leadership.
• Drive for results with focus on the bottom line.
• Customer focus and dedication to meeting expectations of customers.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to deliver exceptional service and results.
• Promote a safe, reliable and consistent attendance environment.
• Convert internship into a full-time role through demonstrated leadership potential.
• Support department in achieving sales and managing the P&L.
