Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations in Waterford, CT. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, and cash handling, while ensuring customer satisfaction and asset protection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Basic math and cash handling abilities.
• Familiarity with store merchandising and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes for merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and in-store displays.
• Ensure cash handling integrity; deposits, refunds, and tills counts.
