Qualifications

• Two+ years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Two+ years of experience in a retail grocery store.
• Strong reading, math, and cash handling skills.
• Ability to recruit, interview and hire staff within policy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise according to established practices and manager direction.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management (damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, controls); conducts inventories.
• Follows ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Models company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook, SOP manual and communications.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of all company funds in the designated bank.
• Supports financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control and cash-handling procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operates store in the absence of the store manager.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
