Job summary

Dollar General in South Carolina is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, supervision, staffing, inventory, and customer service. This role is designed to develop internal candidates for the Store Manager position over a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, cashier accountability, and compliance with company policies. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking, and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company procedures and policies and participate in opening/closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of funds and protect cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence and review operating statements for trends.
