Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Anderson, SC. You will help with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure clean, safe, and well-presented sales floors and stockrooms.

The role involves coaching Store Associates, handling opening/closing procedures, and applying corporate directives while maintaining promotional displays and loss-prevention measures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping (including payroll and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and organized, including bathrooms, floors, and stock areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
