Job summary

Dollar Tree in South Haven is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop team members. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor and stockroom meet company standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, hands-on leadership, and adherence to policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment with customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain payroll, scheduling and cash handling records.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to support sales.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and loss prevention.
• Maintain neat stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
