Job summary

Dollar General in Camden, SC seeks an experienced store manager to oversee staffing, training, and daily operations. You will recruit, train, and supervise employees, manage inventory and merchandising, and ensure cash control and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel or terminate if needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to enforce policies.
• Ensure the store is staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Personally open the store at least two times per week and close at least two times per week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify sales, profitability, shrink, and errors.
• Order to meet or exceed in-stock targets; review ordering plan weekly and manage inventory.
• Facilitate staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise per processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage follow guidelines.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Maintain fiscal integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe, and well-organized; ensure proper equipment for tasks.
• Follow SOPs and policies; ensure compliance and complete all paperwork on time.
